The Role 

Our Audit & Assurance Team have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Manager to take the lead of the Audit team. As part of the Audit Leadership team, you’ll be the conductor of a talented team of Auditors and be supported to lead the team by 5 Directors and the Audit Leadership Team.  This is your path to partner! 

This role will see you leading several key client accounts as well as ensuring the team workflow is optimised to deliver on time, on budget to the highest level of quality.  As the Senior Manager in the team, you will work collaboratively with the Audit Leadership team to ensure the client needs are met, support growth of the division and ensure our team is equipped to meet the divisions commercial outcomes, leveraging the expertise of our Audit Operations Lead and Audit Training and Development Manager.

As the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for: 

  • The application of Accounting Standards (AASB & IFRS) and reviewing accounting treatments.
  • Analytical review procedures, including ratio analysis.
  • Constructing and maintaining logical and accurate audit programs, working papers and checklists using Caseware in accordance with audit methodology.
  • Sound understanding of model accounts and preparing and reviewing financial.
  • Preparing statutory financial statements and accompanying notes (single/consolidated).
  • Audit engagement by owning file completion and oversight of entire audit file.
  • Developing audit plans and audit planning documents for engagements.
  • Reading, understanding, and following audit planning memos and audit programs and procedures 
  • Testing and evaluating the design and interpretation of relevant controls within a business, and the operating effectiveness of those controls.

  • Have a depth of experience in Audit & Assurance in the mid-market space.
  • Be ambitious and looking to progress their career in a successful mid-tier firm. 
  • Have a strong personal brand that enables you to build strong client relationships.
  • A strong commercial insight to ensure you are providing value-add client advice and delivering on firm KPI’s.
  • Have previous experience with billing and budget management.
  • Have a strong understanding of entity types and associated relevant legislation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills will enable you to delegate clearly and set realistic and challenging expectations for your team.
